Northampton County Historical & Genealogical Society is a proud partner of this year’s Heritage Day! Join us for a fun day filled with lively music, great food, and activities for the entire family.

When: July 12, 2025 9am – 9pm

Where: Downtown, historic Easton

Why: Heritage Day annually commemorates the reading of the Declaration of Independence in Easton (July 8, 1776).

Cost: $20 adult and $10 child wristbands provide admission to all NCHGS properties.

1753 Bachmann Publick House

Explore this National Register structure and the oldest remaining structure in Easton with our friendly interpreters.

Lehigh Valley 250 Tent

NCHGS is a founding partner of Lehigh Valley 250, a collaboration formed to commemorate the 250 anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. Visit the tent to hear about 2026 exhibitions, research, programs, and much more!

Did you know? The Declaration was read simultaneously to the public on July 8, 1776 in three locations: Philadelphia, Trenton, and Easton! Don’t miss a reenactment of the first reading at 12 noon in Centre Square.
