Holiday Drive to Fill Plates and Hearts

(ALLENTOWN, PA) – The Allentown Rescue Mission announces its 26th annual Thanks for Giving Food & Supplies Drive, Saturday, November 14th, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event collects non-perishable food and cleaning supplies to support the nearly 1,000 men experiencing homelessness at the Mission each year. The Mission relies on the fundraiser to feed guests over the holidays and to restock its pantry shelves for the upcoming year.
The Allentown Rescue Mission will partner with Josh Early Candies for this one-day, drive-thru drop-off event. Donations can be made at Josh Early Candies in both Allentown and Bethlehem. Boxing legend and Lehigh Valley native Larry Holmes will be on-site at Josh Early Candies Allentown from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., along with iHeartRadio personality Mike Mittman, who will broadcast from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Both men will be available for photos with donors. Cumulus Radio personalities will be on-site at Josh Early Candies’ Bethlehem location. Additionally, the Mission will host a Meal Match Challenge as part of its Food & Supplies Drive to raise funds for nutritious, perishable foods, including fruits, vegetables, and dairy products. Every dollar donated to the Challenge this November will be matched, doubling your impact thanks to a generous group of donors. To participate, please contact Marlena at 610-740-5500 x325.
