DESCRIPTION:Hope Alliance and Big Woody’s to Distribute 1000 Free Meals\nTeaming Up to Respond to Food Insecurity in the Lehigh Valley During Pandemic\nBETHLEHEM\, PENNSYLVANIA — Hope Alliance Church is partnering with Big Woody’s Bar and Grill to distribute 1000 free meals to individuals and families who may be facing hunger or decreased income during the current pandemic.  The event will be held starting at noon on Saturday June 6 and Sunday June 7 at two Big Woody’s locations\, at 2625 Easton Avenue in Bethlehem and 1855 Sullivan Trail in Forks Township. \n\nHope Alliance has committed to donating half of its donations to the Do Good\, Give Hope initiative (https://hopealliancechurch.org/do-good-give-hope/) during this time. This meal event is designed to help locally-owned restaurants and restaurant workers in addition to meal recipients. \n\nBig Woody’s Bar and Grill is an enthusiastic partner in the effort\, matching Hope Alliance donations and providing tasty and nutritious meals as well as logistical support. \n\nA drive-through process will be set up in the parking lots of the restaurants.  Hope Alliance volunteers will distribute the meals while observing social distancing procedures. DESCRIPTION:It is a season for turning back to God.\nPerhaps before our nation or any one of us gets beyond a point of no return. \nOn September 26\, we will host a simulcast of “The Return“—the opening ceremony is at 9am\, break for a short Shabbat Shuvah (Sabbath of Returnng) service of our own from 10:20 until 11am\, then return to the simulcast with Rabbi Jonathan Cahn and Paul Wilbur shortly after 11am EST followed at noon by prayers of repentance for America. (If you cannot join us\, you should be able to watch the Simulcast on your own device. See https://thereturn.org/simulcast\, though there’s power in unity!) We’ll be at Kingdom Life Family Center as long as we have a minyan (> 10 people). \nYom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) begins with our Kol Nidre (All Vows) service at 7pm. The theme of my message will be “God Grieves.” Our morning service at 10:30am will include an ancient description of Yom Kippur in the 2nd Temple and my sermon called “Atonement in the Book of Job.” Finally\, worship God before the gates of Neilah close\, starting at 5:30pm.
