They will leave from the Macungie Campus at 126 S. Church Street\, Macungie\, PA 18062\, at 6:30 am. The bus will leave from Washington\, DC at 4:00 pm. The cost to attend is $35 per person which includes: the bus ride\, bottled water and snacks. The bus will stop for dinner on the way home\, somewhere outside of Washington DC. Please note the dinner is not included in the price\, and people are encouraged to bring a lunch for the bus ride down. DESCRIPTION:The Moravian Historical Society is pleased to announce the opening of our annual putz display\, held on Saturday\, November 27\, 2021 from 11 a.m–4 p.m. This free exhibition celebrates A Moravian Christmas: 100 Years of Tradition.\n\nVisitors will have the opportunity to view the annual putz display in the historic 1740 Gray Cottage\, the oldest Moravian structure in North America. This exhibition features objects from the 1850s Morris putz and the 20th century Sullivan putz\, accompanied by lights and narration of the Nativity story.\n\nVisitors will also have the opportunity to enjoy a festive display of Robert Wendler’s historic Lehigh Valley building models. For more than two decades\, Wendler preserved Lehigh Valley history in the form of his miniature recreations of historic buildings. The display will feature some of the most iconic structures from the Lehigh Valley.

SUMMARY:New Exhibition Open at the Sigal Museum Another American’s Autobiography: Selections from the Petrucci Family Foundation’s Collection of African American Art
DESCRIPTION:Another American’s Autobiography: Selections from the Petrucci Family Foundation’s Collection of African American Art is a collaboration with the Petrucci Family Foundation featuring over 25 pieces of art from their collection. The selected works will explore American patriotism and identity as it relates to the Black American experience. It will address the challenges of Black patriotism and the circumstances that complicate the relationship between Black Americans and this country. It asks the guests: What does it mean to be patriotic? Who comes to mind when we think of an American Patriot? Can we redefine and reimagine our symbols of patriotism or our expressions of allegiance? \nThis exhibition surveys work by Black artists who have grappled with questions of American identity\, allegiance\, and belonging in their practice. The selected artworks aim to affirm the role of Black Americans in shaping our national identity and to elevate civic engagement and constructive patriotism as a valid and healthy expression of a love of country. The exhibition features works from a wide variety of media including film\, sculpture\, textiles\, and more. It also features a quilt on loan from former Lafayette College and Easton resident\, Chawne Kimber. \nThe Petrucci Family Foundation has also generously sponsored free public admission to the Sigal Museum November 19\, 2021 through December 30\, 2021 (closed Thanksgiving and New Years Eve).
