The event is open to all ages and abilities\, and participants can choose to ruck (wear a weighted backpack) or run/walk a 5K or 1-mile course. \nThe Ruck ‘n Run/Walk is an opportunity to honor and support veterans in the Lehigh Valley and beyond. The event will also raise funds for Battle Borne\, a non-profit organization that focuses on supporting veterans and their families through building social connection\, strengthening community\, and facilitating mental health services. \n  \nThe Ruck ‘n Run/Walk will begin at 9:00 AM with a check-in at 8:00 AM offering an in-person race with 5K Ruck and Run/Walk options in addition to a 1-mile Fun Run/Walk option. The course is an off-road grass course through the scenic Bicentennial Park. \nAwards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in each age group for the 5K Ruck and 5K Run/Walk options. The college or university team with the most participants (Ruck\, Run/Walk\, and Fun Run/Walk combined) will earn a plaque to be displayed on their campus\, and the business/company team with the most participants will earn a plaque to be displayed at their workplace. \nRegistration for the Ruck ‘n Run/Walk is now open. Participants can register online at runsignup.com/VMC5k or in person on the day of the event. Registration is free until November 8th. Same day registration will be $10.
